If you’ve ever been to Edwards Meats, you know our smoker is a huge part of what we do. When our front-of-house smoker is running on Fridays and Saturdays, you’ll find it hard to concentrate on your shopping with the mouth-watering smells of food fresh off the smoker filling the air. And if you decide to treat yourself, you’ll never be disappointed. It’s common to hear an “Oh boy!” or a “Wow that’s good!” from customers feasting on lunch from the smoker.
But our smoker provides so much more than instant gratification for hungry customers. We carry a lot of meats cooked on the smoker that you can take home to enjoy with your family. They make for an easy meal that’s oozing with flavor.
The smoker runs four to five nights a week all year, and every day during peak holiday season (November/December). We have to run the smoker this often just to keep up with the demand. The good news is you can be confident that all our items out of the smoker are always fresh.
In 1974, Darin’s grandfather Herb built the original smokehouse with the help of Darin’s father Ernie. They recognized the considerable demand for home-smoked products, and they wanted to give their customers more of what they wanted. It turns out that building the original smokehouse was one of the most important moments in the history of our shop. It launched Edwards Meats to a whole new level and helped grow the business to what it is today.
In 2000, Darin put in the new smokehouse that we still use five nights a week. It’s much larger, has a microprocessor and has allowed us to up our smoker game tremendously. Our smoker uses wood chips to create the smoke. This gives our food a much better flavor profile than is possible with liquid smoke. This is just how we want it. Nothing but the best for our valued customers – and our smoker delivers every time.

Bacon
Our handcrafted smoked bacon is the #1 selling product in the entire shop. If you love bacon, you’ve gotta try it. You’ll never buy supermarket bacon again. We use Edwards family recipes that have been passed down for three generations. We cure the pork belly, smoke it and slice it in house, for the best flavor you’ll find anywhere in town. We use a variety of smoke flavors with our bacon to give you flavor profiles that will match any meal you’re cooking. Apple and cherry bacon are really popular, but the pro tip is to go with the hickory bacon. It’s our best seller for a reason.
Smoked Hogs
Have you ever had a smoked hog? If not, you’re missing out on one of life’s truly great pleasures. Stop by the shop and we can fix that for you. Our smoked hogs are legendary. We make whole smoked hogs to order. They’re perfect for a pig roast or a large holiday gathering – or for just about any occasion. Pair it with one of our many BBQ sauces to kick the flavor up a notch.
Ribs
Ribs in a smoker is a match made in heaven! We’ve got baby back and St. Louis style ribs fresh off the smoker. The meat just falls right off the bone. Perfect for your next backyard party.
Holiday Favorites
Did we mention that our smoker runs seven days a week during the holiday season? That’s because holiday meals are better when the meat comes from the smoker. Our smoked turkeys and hams are really popular around the holidays. Smoked turkey is packed with flavor and is sure to elevate your Thanksgiving meal. Our smoked hams are a Christmas classic, but we also get a lot of orders around Thanksgiving from families who want to do something different than turkey.
Jerky, Smoked & Summer Sausage
We make some of the best jerky in the Denver area, fresh in the smoker. The secret to our jerky is that we use the whole muscle and slice it off the round. This gives you big pieces instead of the cut up little chunks found in grocery store jerky. Take it on your next hike and you won’t go hungry.
We also carry a wide variety of smoked and summer sausage. Smoked sausages are great for adding to your recipes or for grilling up on game day. Our summer sausages make a great addition to picnics on a summer day and you can serve them with cheese and crackers for a great app at your next party.
Dog Bones
